AA Grade (Spring 2019) - 49 grams
My father is a drinker of dark teas all his life and non appeals to him as much as this AA grade. Belonging to the popular genre of heavy roasting, it boosts high fragrance, strong mouth taste and long durability. It comes highly recommended if you like your tea strong and earthly.
The dried leaves are broad and muscular, possessing the tough external of a warrior monk.
To experience, first rinse in hot water to remove the "fire". The liquor reveals an exquisite fragrance that is strong, subtle and long. The taste is smooth with no astringency, is rich and full-bodied.
Savor every cup. This is an AA grade, so he peaks early at the second and third infusions.
When you are done, pour out the wet leaves and admire its brownish green color.

The scent of those bigger sized fine rolled leaves developed a very intense ripe fruity flavor of raisins and plums after those leaves received a hot bath. The taste of it is well balanced and composed with knowledge. The charcoal taste is always a part of this delicious show but the mixture is what counts. Beside a roasted layer underneath the major parts are a fusion of again ripe fruits like plums and raisins, a smell of baked sweet cookies and a very natural mineral stony flavor. I really enjoyed this tea a lot and it is definitely one of the really good ones I tried so far when it comes to Tie Luo Han.

This tea having the highest roast of all the Yan Cha selections, is very strong and delicious. The name Iron Warrior Monk is well suited to the taste and Qi. Has a slight honey like undertone with toasted melted sugar and some sort of fruit perhaps pear with the strong fresh roast. It could take about another 6 months for the roast to mellow and it will be even more extraordinary but it is still an amazing tea to drink right now for a great after meal tea!

Tieluohan another excellent oolong to go along with Rougui. Does not have the depth of taste in fruit or the deep charcoal roast that Rougui has. Brewed together the same exact way (4g 100ml 88C) in gaiwans . Tieluohan has more of a lighter raisin and muscatel taste than a deep roasted apricot and peach taste. This would be best in spring and summer and have the Rouqui in cold months and on rainy days I think.

It is my first experience on Wuyi teas and I'm surprised with the heavy and thick taste of Tieluohan. It seems more full-bodied and heavy roasted taste than the Huang Guanyin tea.
Tieluohan is perfect for a cold and rainy morning of winter, a tea with strong character but with a small subtle features and a long aftertaste. My rating is 5.

This is such a complex and smooth tea. I've been making it iced this summer which is divine!
This one came in the sampler pack and jumped out as a new favorite of mine, and I've ordered this new batch as I crave it now.
